WHAT WE DO
Dance Spotlight is dedicated to preserving influential dance techniques for dancers, teachers, scholars, and performers of all types and to help make dance appealing and accessible to broader audiences. Through our technique and class videos, we ensure that these valuable artistic contributions are not lost. Our goal is to reach a worldwide audience of dancers and dance lovers.
We seek to preserve the original integrity of these techniques and demonstrate how they can be used and developed through our class videos. Our videos showcase renowned teachers in their field, who provide insightful directions and corrections for the performance of the technique.
HOW WE HELP THE DANCE COMMUNITY
As a nonprofit organization, Dance Spotlight depends upon the support and generosity of individuals and groups to fulfill our mission.
In addition to supporting the preservation of foundational dance techniques, your donation assists our philanthropic efforts in the education community including donating the Graham Beginning Video to over 450 dance teachers in NYC public middle and high schools. In addition, we created and donated our first master class for NYC public dance teachers and are designing a series of classes to help teachers make full use of the video. We plan to extend this offering around the state through virtual classes. Our efforts expand the exposure of dance techniques to diverse communities and dancers who might not have the resources to take classes outside of school or be introduced to these artists. The videos and master classes give teachers tools to help them introduce the technique with the artistry and genius behind it.
